F--FLAVOR...!!!

How can I write
of the flavor of life
When my fellows
suffer to live

As the blood streams
everywhere around
how can I think
of happy smiles

As the loved ones
left us along way
how can I take pride
of this little life, being alive

The flavor of life
destroyed with blood
of our loved ones
who are killed every day

how can I write
of the beauty around
when my country men
are dying for no reason

E--EMBARRASSMENT..!!!

Met an foreigner sitting beside me as I was reading a book along the pool. He was enjoying his last few minutes in India, as I knew he was leaving the next day.

"Hey John! how are you today??" I asked him closing my book and setting my bookmark in place.

"Hello Kripa. Am doing good dear, just enjoying the last minutes in your country" he replied, half smiling.

"So, how did you find India?" Abhi joined us.

"wow, Its a beautiful country. Different colors are found every where. The ancient history is still treasured. The culture, the traditions i read about in the books is still fresh and alive. Am honored to live in this country at least for a small time." he said recollecting every memory he has captured all along.

"Seems like you enjoyed the stay in India alot." I said smiling.
He just smiled ans Abhi aksed "So how did you find Indians??"

"Indians?? Who Indians?? I dint find any here" John answered, rather questioned. Abhi and I were puzzled. the smile had already vanished.

"Who else can you find in India??" abhi questioned.

"I found a Kashmiri in Kasmir, a Rajasthani in Rajasthan, a bengali in Bengal, a Tamilian in Tamil Nadu, a mallu in Kerala, a hyderabadi in Hyderabad." He continued.

"I also found a hindu, a muslim, a christian, a jain, a sikh. I also found some rich and many poor. But dear friends, I found no Indians here." he said and left.

Abhi and I were struck in embarrassment.

***********************************************************************
P.S.: Dear friends..think of this...how true. we are all fighting everyday to live up our caste, our religion, the place we live..forgetting the country we belong to. So, please be an INDIAN...not anyone else living in India..!!!

Every time someone asks you "Who are you?"
Proudly answer "I AM AN INDIAN..!!!"

TALE---GRADUATION DAY..!!!

"Kripa, remember the first time we came here?" Abhi asked her.

"Yes darling, how can i ever forget? Thats when we first met our little baby" replied Kripa.

"She is a big girl today" Abhi said thinking of their daughter whom they adopted 25 years back whom they saw abandoned on a chair in the meadows. They just took her home and she is a big girl today and today is her graduation day.

"The chair is still there?? Its amazing. Abhi lets take it home" Kripa said moving towards the chair.
"Ok dear. will sure take it.'' Abhi said while lifting the chair.

They took the chair home, Kripa cleaned it properly and Abhi repainted it.

They soon got ready to attend their angels' Graduation day and left home. It was a special day to the whole family and they happily returned home.

"Mamma, whom is this chair for?" asked Angel, smiling.
"Its your dear. we found you, our lucky charm, in the same chair 25 years back." Abhi said hugging his angel.
"Angel, this is yours. Its your asset before we are yours. So dear, treasure it." Kripa said.
"Papa, nothing can be more important than both of you. will treasure this for sure not as my asset but as my gift on my graduation day" Angel replied in tears.

D--DANDELION..!!!

Green meadow grass
not spotted, when its born
the children running across
stop to feel the beauty

They are little, beautiful
light up the meadows
at the early dawn
at the late dusk

The little dew drops
acme the beauty
as the sun kisses
it the nature's best

the sweet beauty
plucked off, thrown away
still it looses no hope
still alive to give us fun

we blow its seeds off
enjoy them in the air
little dandelions reborn again
are the beauty once again

you are the best
many still put you down
never leave hope
like the little dandelion

live for others
leave not your beauty
as no one else can be you
so, dear live your life

B--BLUSH...!!!

I was his princess, his angel
so sweet, so soft and so pure
making his days special
with smiles, with laughs

I was his sunshine, his bright light
bringing a ray hope of love
As I grew, his love doubled
to him I was the best on the planet

Every time he hugged, I smiled
every time he kissed, I blushed
every time he said I Love You
I felt am really the blessed

Dear Dad, you are my angel too
though am miles away from you
am still your little baby girl
protected by your love, your care

Love you DAD...!!!

May 3rd Mega post....April A-Z Challenge..!!!

Started the journey
on the fool's day
mark special note
it definitely did

started my journey
with love to my mom
completed with
incomplete zeal to write

Started my journey
with no key what to write
was difficult to make it out
but finally did write every one

all along the way
met many new friends
who were always there
visiting my Land of Dreams

all along the way
my routine made it hard
to write, to read, to be there
but still i managed

all along the way
I was happy to be back
writing that I left
some days back

all along the way
I learnt new lessons
of poetry, of friendship, of life
now, there are all with me

it all ended
with a zeal to write
another month
May A-Z challenge

Started already
will end another day
may be the end of May
keep coming
to enjoy my poetry

I was never there
in any other challengers'
my routine never let me
but dear friends,
i know you must be the best

Lets all join together
and salute and clap for
Arlee Bird
for this wonderful journey

The Three Hundredth Reverie

Friends (mine & hers too!), Dreamers (must!), Countrymen (or not), Lend me your eyes,
I come to celebrate a milestone, another big dream.

(William Shakespeare, please forgive me, I hope I shall not be sued by you when I get to heaven!)

Today, (11:55am on a very hot Sunday morning) as I begin to write put pen to paper on this (delayed by 12 hours) milestone post for one of my best (I’ve not met her yet, but that shouldn’t matter) friends, I’m really over the moon, happy to see her writing with such enthusiasm and desire. Last month, (don’t look at calendar now dears, it was April 2010) I pushed her to take part in a challenge called April A to Z challenge, and yes, she did complete it. When I suggested her to continue the challenge in May, she agreed to that too & she has already started putting pen to paper from yesterday (yeah, it was 1st May yesterday) and had a very astute beginning too. She might have problems with her net this month, but I’m sure she will do her best to give 26 masterpieces for her readers (yeah, that’s you!) again. Meanwhile, I (the amateur poet, Leo) have been given the very difficult duty of writing her 300th dream. (I’m sure you’ll find it difficult too to get a marvelous post for such a beautiful space.)

I have known this gal since October of 2008 I think. She’ll confirm of course, but I’ve not the comments to go back in time to confirm. I think her pen name that time was Dil ki Pyar (Love of a heart) but somehow, I think her name tells that more than that pen name so it was nice when she took up Yamini Meduri itself as her pen name. It took me a while to get back to her blog (a month I believe, but it was worth the wait.), a single read & I knew she had the talent to write bigger, better and any form she put her mind to. We became more close friends and we did quite find solace in each other’s friendship. We’ve been there for each other when one of us has been down. She also began to absorb the various forms of poetry that I wrote, and frankly, she does them better after that. I guess most of you would know by now that her favorite form of poetry (after free style) is Acrostic and she’s very good at them, even got awards from Acrostic Only for them. I wish she gets a lot of milestones like this in her future, for I see her taking her dreams onward to maybe 2000 posts (Yami, don’t you dare disagree! :P)

Her dreams are mostly poetry, so I don’t know if most of her readers (that's you by the way!) would be aware of her lovely stories. She keeps them hidden I think at her Desktops blog. Check the sidebar once in a while and head over there. You’ll leave with a smile (or a tear, if it’s a sad one) but you’ll leave wanting to come back. I’m also privileged to own fifty percent shares in our joint effort meme blog, Thursday Tales where we give a photograph each week for inspiration to write a story (if you’re a poet, we’re not fussy. But a tale would be nice…) All in all, she’s like an all rounder. She even has a group of friends working toward abolishing social evils, an active social worker she is. I hope all her efforts will be successful and we can see evils reducing at a good rate soon. I wish her all the best there too.

Finally, (yeah, I’m nearing the end. You can sigh with relief!) Coming to her as a friend & not a blogger, I’m happy I have such a friend in my life. Very few are lucky enough to have a friend in their lives, I’m happy to have many and one such friend is her. Jovial, smiling always, focused on her dreams… she’s the fighter. She won’t give up even if failure stared at her face, she’d just shove Him (or Her, I’m not sure of what gender failure is!) out of the way & continue moving forward. She’s a loving daughter, a caring sister& a very cheerful person. Keep working toward that 2000th post (again, no argument from you I shall hear!) and be the same gal you are right now even then. Don’t change.

Lots of love from this friend…

A--ASTUTE..!!!

Turning rocks
to wonderful statues
moulding iron ores
to huge edifices

turning jungles
to beautiful gardens
shaping mud
to beautiful pots

they burn their blood
shed in the form of sweat
they work hard
till their last breathe

who dare say
they are illiterates
shall anyone here
dare to do what they do

Each of them
is an astute
they can make wonders
out of every thing

On the first day of may
lets salute each of them
for their hard work
for their intelligence

HAPPY MAY DAY..!!!

The challenge starts again....for the month of may...here i am starting the marathon once again..!!!This first poem of the challenge is dedicated to every worker of the world who can do every thing from anything..!!!
