Sweet n Sour..!!!

This post has been published by me as a part of the Blog-a-Ton 41; the forty-first edition of the online marathon of Bloggers; where we decide and we write. To be part of the next edition, visit and start following Blog-a-Ton. The theme for the month is "SWEET AND SOUR"
Sweet & Sour: Its called Marriage

I never knew I would love someone as uniquely as I love you
You irritate me to the heights; let me get tired taking care of you
You never leave me love notes, nor bring me flowers
You hardly say ‘I Love You’ nor wish on special days
Yet I love you for your little love that’s so rare

I dreamt of special holidays; wrote love poems
Celebrated life like none other
Then I met you; time had come and gone by
With no memories to cherish; no dreams to recollect
Yet I love you for the little time we spend together

Happiness was a common feeling, which just happened everyday
Sorrow was a distant nightmare, which never dared to touch my shadow
Little things brought a smile that filled my heart and soul
But I hardly remember when we laughed out together
Yet I love you for the little smile that’s so rare

But
I never knew I would love someone as uniquely as I love you
For the way you hold me and bear my madness
For the way you sense my sight even in a crowd when I look at you
For the way you hug me tight when pain sunk in even before I knew
Yet I hate you for changing the person I was

I still play with colors and read many novels
I roam around with my dear buddies all day long
And get to meet my parents any day I want to
For its your support that binds these all
Yet I hate you when you wake me up early morning

You held my hand and guided me through the dark
You reach to take out my fears and throw them away
You made me stronger and tougher by leaving my decisions to me
You stood by me whenever I was about to fall
Yet I hate you when you don’t like what I cook

Dear Husband,
I waited for a long to find you and its been years I found
Yet I am empty and incomplete; I still await ‘a complete me’
My patience has no end
I shall wait a lifetime
To enjoy our marriage that’s sweet and sour
For it’s just the two of us forever

Unlimited are
the number of options
but bound to choose only one

The choice decides
what you shall be
after years of practice

If you are woman
no choice left to you
as all are already taken

So never blame your"self"
as your fate is decided
not by you...never by you

TEARS OF LOVE...!!!

"I Love You...!!!" She said.
He smiled like always. In the two years of marriage, he never uttered the precious three words.

But today, she didn't expect him to reply back. She wasn't expecting the smile.

They were crying the tears of love as they both knew that its the last time.

She is dying.

Kolkata...A different destination...!!!

Kolkata...a name I heard a hundred times..a city that wove stories for centuries now...a place that hold a different place in my heart. I have been reading hearing and imagining Kolkata from a long time now. Today when I see Kolkata, I prove right of my imaginations.

After celebrating Sankranti in a village, we headed to Kolkata on 15/Jan/2013. After a long tiring and a late journey, we reached Howrah station half past five to find it all dark already. Howrah station itself by all means worth seeing. The biggest station I ever saw till date. With nomads all around, we looked no different in our journey clothes. The only thing I could think is to reach the hotel and freshen up.

The pre-paid taxi service was of no help and hence, we hired a taxi ourselves. The driver dada, the first person we met in Kolkata who helped us a lot in understanding Kolkata and specially plan our trip for the next day. While conversing with him, we also had a glimpse of the traffic, roads and people around. One thing anyone can notice in the very first hour is the "dirty footpaths". One can see a tiny little shop just next to a pile of Khachra and all this is all around the city. The first day, we never found any completely clean road.

Freshening up in a low class "luxury hotel", we had a quick dinner and set out to see the night life of the city of Joy. To our surprise, at 8 p.m. half the city already closed. Nothing was happening. Taxis didnot drive. We were struck. Then, the complete underground metro came to our help and the rail guard is worth a mention. For the single information we sought, he spoke continuously for a minute in bengali. When we informed about our Bengali illiteracy, he said he was struggling too as he also doesnt know good bengali.

With help from youngsters around, we managed to go to the biggest mall of Kolkata (so far the only decent place) and the exteriors were good but the interiors were awesome. The beautiful and vibrant colors caught the lens of my camera. Except the colors and the engineering, everything was same as any other mall.

Coming back, we got down near Kalighat. it was half past nine already and the roads were near to being deserted. We walked almost near to the temple to make sure that we dont take the wrong road the next morning and we got it right.

Amidst all this, I found Kolkata a different destination in life. A city which might have to start questioning about being a "city". The capital of the Bengalis is still trying to wakeup from the long left charishma during the British reign.

As the night fell silent, the tired body yearned for rest and hence, we dozed down. We doze off to rise for another different experience...!!!

Day 1 in Kolkata: 16/Jan/2013.

12-12-12 THE DAY THAT JUST WENT BY...!!!

There has been a lot of discussion about the day that just went by for a week now. The day has come and like any other day, it just went by. Just that people got married, some even got divorced (ridiculous), some were born, some celebrated, but to the most of them, it was the same like any other day.

I was just looking at the date now and I realize, that it is definitely special. Not for the reason that it is the last repeating date of the century but because, the number that is repeating, 12 is the date on which I was born.
When I am almost off to bed, I realize that the day was indeed special and on a special day, how not visit the “Land of Dreams”? and hence here I go. I shall now share in this land of dreams, the 12 most beautiful things that happened in my life after I first opened my eyes.

1.       The most beautiful family I am born in. Meduri’s were never farther than a whisper. Every time my heart beat faster, there was a smile calming me down. If I am special someone to you today, its because of my family and the eternal love they showered upon me.

2.       The lovely school I went to. I have learned everything that is important in life at my school. All I learnt after that was just to strengthen the wall that was already built. It was small and its smaller today, but the impact Siddhartha high School has in my life is enormous.

3.       How can I ever forget F.R.I.E.N.D.S of school, Grads, and PG. They have shown me the happiest moments of life. They always shared a heart to laugh with and a shoulder to cry upon. I feel so good when I tell myself that with some, our friendship is almost 20 years old now. And then came Ocatves….what else can I ask God after such a precious gift, I was thinking. But the Almighty didn’t stop. They showered me with some more angels in life through Vidhya, Ayush, Anusha etc. The bestest thing ever….my dear friends

4.       Sri Balaji Society…a place that transformed me and introduced me to a new ME. A place that holds the highest place in my life. Bala Sir, the person whom I shall forever be thankful for everything especially the family that he has given me.

5.       My teachers, who have shaped the real Yamini to face the challenge of the world. I still remember those long chats with Bapat sir, Anitha Shekhar Ma’am, Sumithra Ma’am who listened to all stupid things I spoke all time.

6.       Akanksha Charitable Society…one of my dream come true project. Through our project Akanksha, I made a difference in so many lives. I have made a mark. Though there is a lot to achieve, I am happy so far.

7.       My interest to play with colors…the most special thing of me that I like the most. Without colors in world, I would have stopped living long back. That constant urge to be creative made my life more colorful.

8.       Books…a world where I am lost more often than any other. All those books, all those writers and specially all those book shops…with out any of you, this life would have been worse than ever. Inspired from Pramoda and her parents, I developed the habit of reading and today, I cant get rid of it.

9.       Ashok Popuri…another new  addition into my life. I still remember the first time we spoke, the first time we went out, the first time he held my hand, and the rest all is history now. He is indeed special if not everything, almost a perfect man for my life. I admire his continuous struggle to understand the complex ME.

10.   My long silky hair….I love it to the core. It helped me stand out in the crowd any time. I admire them the most though it irritates also the most some times. Yeah, I own the most beautiful long silky hair.

11.   An everlasting smile. This is my identity…this is my symbol. I own a special smile that’s open, that greets you even before I utter a word. A smile that can leave you never. I promise

12.   Last but not the least, My land of dreams. A place where a discovered the inner ME. A place that brought me many other friends, teachers, inspirers and lovers. My pen, I am extremely thankful to.

Wow, I complete 12 already and let me tell you, it was no easy a task when you have to prioritize the best 12 out of infinite things that are special.

Off to bed now...and bye to 12-12-12.
